Why I hate media. Jul. 2nd, 2007 @ 11:38 pm

I want to state first and foremost that this post is not in any way, defense to the actions of Chris Benoit.  I think it's heart wrenching, sad, sick, and tragic.  I feel for the family, friends, and aquaintances of he and his family, and I want to say that I am sorry for your losses.

I am an angry individual lately.  I see day in and day out the negativity that they (The Media)  create, and I feel justified now for not persuing that as a career choice.

Why am I angry?  This past week, the media has focused many, many stories on this tragedy, as can be expected when lives are lost at the hands, or at the expense of a celebrity.

Do I concider him (Benoit) a celebrity?  No.  Not unless you are familliar with WWE and have ever heard his name.  But that is EXACTLY why I am so furious.

To fans of the WWE, Chris Benoit was a hard assed, tough as nails son of a bitch, and you knew that when his music came on the person in the ring was in trouble.  WE knew what he was capable of and you either loved him or hated him.  And when we heard the news of his death on Monday Night Raw last week we were all saddened, and felt we owed tribute.

The next day is when the truth came out.  And thats when media forums of the world united in telling the tragic tale of the Benoit family.  And thats when the accusations came out, who was responsible?

ALOT Of blame, and backfire was shot back at the WWE, and Vince McMahon.  And I will be the first to admit that I don't always agree with Vince's decisions, or the decisions of the writers.  That doesn't make him a bad businessman, or insensitive to his wrestlers.

But the media apparently thinks differently, and loves to find scapegoats to tragedies.  How were we to know what happened inside that house?  How can you blame WWE for tributing one of their most popular wrestlers, before the truth came out, we had a right to pay tribute to him in that moment.

But now the truth has come out, and we the fans do understand that the tragedy was at the hands of Chris Benoit, and we are sad, and sick, and in disbelief that one of our community could do such a horrible thing.

But end it there.  Signing on to AOL tonight I was slapped in the face with a headline "Was Benoit using date rape drug?"

I. Don't. Care.  Why does the media think ANYONE cares?  And WHY now, why does the media ignore many things untill something tragic happens.  When was the last time you saw an article featuring a wrestler in their magazine that wasn't a magazine written exclusively by the WWE?

Many people would argue that wrestling is fake.  ANd that pisses me the fuck off.  Their athletics are not fake.  You have to train hard, stay healthy, be alert and travel almost every fucking day to the next show with a new batch of fans.

And to me, that is credible of a short article in a big wig magazine like People or hell, even Time Magazine.  WWE is a part of pop culture too, and it deserves to be recognized as such.

Are there scripted storylines?  Yes, I wont argue with you there.  I mean, there are writers..I know because I applied to be one.  But to me, thats something else they have to be good at...acting!  Drawing in their audience to make sure theyre getting a good fucking show every time.

Thats why it makes me mad that the media shuns it as a plausible form of entertainment.  And why it pisses me off that only now after a tragedy, they decide to cover it on every form of media.

It's not about honoring the family that died at his hands.  Its about ratings, and money.  Whoever has the most inside info gets copies sold, right?

Every new detail means more sales.  Every exclusive interview means more sales.

So to you media, I say fuck off.  Thank you for keeping me informed on every detail I don't care about, and about every detail that makes this story all the more sad.  And to all you writers that are writing before doing your research, I say watch out.  Your credibility is at stake.

Moment of Clairity Jan. 7th, 2006 @ 07:31 pm
It occured to me...that I may change my major. I got a bunch of new DVD's for Christmas and I noticed while I had them all in the DVD player...that I didn't watch the actual movies. I watched the extras. So, something happened... a moment of clairity, if you will.

I think I may try my hand at Film Production. I know so much useless information about what went down behind the scenes, and I have always valued what the production team does and damn it, I think it would be fun to do!

So far I've looked into two schools, The new York Film Academy and the Art Institude of Philadelphia. While NY would be my first choice, Philly is just as cool, especially since I know so many people in the Philadelphia area!

I love those moments of clairity!

» Sup from Disney!
Hey y'all, we are home from Disney! (okay, weve actually been home from Disney, but I've been too lazy to post..)

It was ALOT of fun. When we got to our uncle's house in Siesta Keys, we were in the middle of Hurricane Dennis, so we got to play on the beach while he churned in the Gilf of Mexico. It was alot of fun, the seashells there are AWESOME. (might I mention, the sand quality is rated the highest in the country, oh yeah.)

So after a weekend there we headed to Orlando! Where on the way we expierienced a wicked Thunderstorm and swore that we saw a tornado.

Our first night we hung out at the Carribean Beach resort...while it rained. Our first whole day we went to MGM studios, which ROCCKKEED! I always wanted to see the Indiana Stunt show, and it was so much fun...Indy was flippin hot..

I might also mention that the weather was insanely hot and humid. I think MGM was my favorite out of the three parks...okay no thats a lie, I dont think I can pick a favorite. Epcot was really cool too..you guys should check out a ride called SOARIN!

They strap you in a moving theatre seat, and put you like in the midle of this 360 degree screen and it makes you feel like youre flying. It was SO cool, so for those of you who hate to fly...you can fly without leaving the ground...much...

Magic Kingdom was awesome too, Space Mountain, FABULOUS!!!!!! There was hardly any line for it, thank goodness because I hate the lines at Disney! Thank goodness we had those handy fast passes.! The Electric Street Parade was awesome too, and I couldnt help get a bit emotional when they were doing fireworks over Cinderella's Castle. lol

Friday we went to Sea World, my new favorite place in the world. I fed a dolphin, and a stingray...which was very odd..its like a bristly vaccume... The Manatees were my favorite though. If I could I'd get a Florida liscense plate that says Save the Manatees. lol

Hey guys! We are off to Disney World tomorrow so I will be on a short Hiatus untill we return :) Dont miss me too much.

Hello everyone, how goes it?

Today was rather exciting, my sister got her first tattoo, and it made me finally want one really bad. I was a bit on the line, want one, dont want one, want one, dont want one.

So I have some work to do because I want to get one definately now, and you knoe, they dont come off! So I better make sure its something I really want.

I missed another Jeremy gig, because I am lame and can't get a back bone...or maybe it was because I didnt want to lose my job, which is more practical.

SO hopefully the next one wont be on a Thursday and more on a weekend so I can get up to NY without having to worry.

On a lighter note, there is a blog site I am thinking of signing up for. Its 12.95 a month but they PAY YOU to post, according to the number of readers that read your blog, but its more professional so I think Id have to actually have things to write about that have a point, rather then Livejournal which is pretty laid back. (Run on Sentance, wow...eh, I'll keep it)

I'll let you guys know, the ones that care....if and when I do it :)
www.blogit.com I believe is the link. If you sign up, let me know, Ill do you a favor by reading it religiously to earn you money, if you help me out.

Woo!
» Everyone has a limit..to which they can take
I have reached my limit. And then they wonder why I get so absurdly angry. I hear the same thing over and over and after awhile, its one blurry, mixed up, self consious, self absorbed mess.

If I hear "I don't mean to keep talking about it..."

You know, I'm a good listener. I'd rather try and help you out then let you worry, let you stew in "what to do's" (hey, that rhymed..) You can talk to me until your mouth falls off, and I dont care...

But when you hear the exact same words come from their mouth, and any type of advice you give to them isnt good enough, and you have really run out of ideas...and they keep coming at you anyways...I'm done.

Dont ask me how to handle something if you dont like what I said the first time. I can only do it so many times.

» This Love
Have you ever fallen in love? Fallen in love so badly that your heart aches, or that you get goosebumps just by looking at them?

Its weird. I've been dating the same person for 7 years almost. Seven years is a long time.

But I watched a movie the other night and the kiss, you know, the big romantic movie kiss in all love stories, they all have at least one, if not more, gave me a need to just talk to him.

We dont live terribly close to one another, I know what you're thinking. "Long distance relationships don't work."

Seven years is a long time not to work :)

But the romantic movies make me realize things, like how lucky I am to have him. How amazing I feel when I'm with him, and how amazing he makes me feel as a person. I wouldn't trade him for anything. NOTHING.
» Rent Movie and a Graduation!
Hey guys, long time no chat!

Haley graduated High School tonight, finally. We are all very proud of her, and I am glad to be home because my feet were killing me lol.

She was excited, and I told her to enjoy it because this would be her last free Summer for the rest of her life. Hehe.

On another note, there is a trailer out for the Rent movie and I am totally excited. It looks amazing. I have complete faith in Chris Columbus. Yay that!

I know this is a short post but Im tired, and hungry so I think I will go eat. Peace out!
» Two steps forwars...8 steps back
Ever feel like...no matter what you do, no matter how far you think you're getting, SOmething else comes along and trumps it?

I'm feeling like that now. I've been trying to graduate from Montgomery College for the last year, and every time I think I'm there, I find out I have more credits to go.

I failed a math class 3 times. Which is unnacceptable to me, but I'm just really not good in math...so I look for other options. I have 2. Take a math class I've passed over again, so I can appeal to get into the next highest math class (which I have failed 3 times), to take ANOTHER math class to graduate. Or. Take a different math class that skips retaking a previous class.

Which would you pick? Me too.

However, when I tried to register for this said math class, I find out theres a prerequisite. But...I dont know what the fuck it is, and I'm getting really frusterated. And College used to be so fun...
» Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyy
Sup everyone? I am compiling for you a list of 50 of my favorite movies. Yes, I am sure you are all excited.

And they're not the 50 top movies ever...just MY top 50 movies ever. So if you like them, great, if not...sorry? :) Stay tuned for that, Ill be posting them shortly.
» Happy..Marriage day? :)

I wish them all the best. I love you both.

As I'm Leaving - David Gray
As I'm leaving
A change comes on my eyes
These streets persuading me
With mumbled strange goodbyes

Through the water
Through the rain
To the soul of everything
Throw my heart out on the stones
And I'm almost gone

There's no meaning
In clothes and coffee cups
Cheap hotel furniture
Where silence never stops

Through the water
Through the rain
To the soul of everything
Throw my memories to the wind
And I'm almost gone

And now I'm dreaming
I'm staring at the walls
Cars are frozen now
In late night waterfalls

Through the water
Through the rain
To the soul of everything
Throw my heart out on the stones
And I'm almost
Through the water
Through the rain
To the soul of everything
Wash my heart out on the stones
And I'm almost gone
» New car, new car, oh yeah yeah yeah
I got a new car.

You can all applaud now.

So, Krissy, tell us about the new car!

Okay!

Its a 2004 Honda Civic, used, less then 10,000 miles on it and it was cheap as hell.

::round of applause::

It comes with sun roof, cd player and all the fun accoutremonts of a nice 2004 vehicle.

Sweet.
» Rob Thomas and the cranky crowd from hell.
Yesterday we got to see Rob Thomas in concert. Which was pretty weird listening to Rob sing but not seeing the other members of matchbox twenty with him. But it was cool. They had a different rythym then the matchboys, and I liked it.

I edited this majorly because I realized how long it was, because I was bitching about something lol. But anyways

The show was amazing. Rob was on fire, his band was on fire, and the lead guitarist Frank, and the Drummer Abe were SO nice, I think we talked to Frank like 15 minutes, and he gave us pictures and he was just really excited to talk to fans. So it was cool.

During I am an illusion, Rob jumped up on a speaker that went almost up to the balcony, and Jason, his body guard nearly had a heart attack. He played Time after time, to which I cried, 3 am, which I cried for again and Acoustic Push, which Mandy Mandy and I both cried for the whole song and made me miss matchbox twenty a little bit, but it was awesome just the same.

We got AMAZING pictures, which I'll post when I have some time to scan them. I'm putting them in an album tonight, and I think I have enough to fill most of it up lol. I cant wait for October, because thats when there will be another tour with slightly bigger venues.

All in all it was a good expierience, aside from a bunch of people who think they're special and aren't, but try to brag about it anyways, and to a drunk lady that cut in front of me at the merchandise stand and bought 400 dollars worth of merchandise. Assholes. The lot of them. Hopefully next time there wont be that many rude people.
